Prioritize your family's emotional health!

Flower Essences are highly effective, non-toxic herbal preparations that address core issues of wellness, especially emotions. The essences are used internally or topically to assist balancing everyone's, including babies and children's, emotional health. They can be used to address anger, sleep issues, birth or any trauma, fear, nightmares, sadness, anxiety, overwhelm, attention-challenge and other emotions.

Add to breastmilk/formula bottle, your baby or child's bath water, in soft/liquid food (for example, mashed potatoes, soups, etc), dishwashing/hand soap; you can even place drops in your paint and then paint nursery or other rooms in the house to assist creating a calm, soothing, or whatever mood you want to enhance or address, the essences will still work!

This is a safe and healthy way to nurture your family's emotional health as there are no adverse effects. Using Flower Essences allows you to build a foundation that empowers your family to utilize natural resources to assist a healthy response to their emotions.

Is It Really Medicine?

November E-Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Thank you for reading the first of several upcoming e-newsletters within the month of November.

While watching a commercial promoting a medication for a skin disease, I was prompted to revisit the concept of medicine. The commercial was visually attractive in its presentation, the ‘subject’ was surrounded by nature and loved ones, and she appeared happy in her mood as the list of potential side effects scrolled along the side of the tv screen. Cancer, respiratory failure, liver problems were some of the potential diseases you could experience if you take this medication.

I thought - If it has 'side effects' warnings of possible harm if use, is it really medicine? Medicine is defined as "the science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease". Also - "the science and art of healing. It encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness". If medicine is defined as the above, then would it cause potential harm in the healing process?

I chose the natural/holistic health field as a career because of the love and appreciation I experience when doing this work and being in service to others. I am committed to providing information and education on this approach to health to assist you and your family's health, wellness, and holistic healing journey. The health modalities that my practice offers comes with no warnings, just 'common sense' awareness like 'keep aromatherapy blend away from eyes', and in the event that should happen - washing the eyes will address it.

Still, whether choosing my practice or another's as your health care provider, I encourage you to be educated consumers. Research, ask questions, find out exactly what you are choosing as your medicine. An educated consumer is a conscious, responsible participant in his/her life and soul journey.

Yours in holistic health,
Nicole A. Tucker, Lic. LCC

Your Holistic Child: Back To School Guide

Your Holistic Child: Back To School Guide

~ When packing lunch, consider the appropriate food grouping for proper digestion and strengthening of the entire body (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual). Protein + Green Vegetables = Yes, Starch + Green Vegetables = Yes. Protein + Starch = No, Green Vegetables + Fruit = No.

~ If your child experiences a lack of appetite, add a piece of grapefruit to her lunch bag/box to eat or inhale the aroma. Essential oil of grapefruit provides appetite stimulant support.

~ Send her to school with her own essential oil (Aromatherapy) hand sanitizer. Containing all natural anti-bacterial, anti-toxic, and antiviral properties, she will like the aroma and the way it feels on her hands.

~ Gently encourage communication about your child's day at school. Find out who her friends are, if there are any challenges with other students and teachers, and so on. Start this process at an early age to increase your child's belief system about healthy self-expression, and communication.

~ Introduce and maintain a holistic lifestyle for your child. This approach to wellness, first, supports healthy living values and commitments for your child, as well as, minimizes sick days from school.

*this newsletter information also applies to home schooling environments.

Make holistic living fun and empowering for your children

Holistic living means to actively and consciously participate and create life choices that support your healthiest physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual (belief system) health. Encouraging this option of living for children helps them to be healthy and grow into adults who consciously choose natural and safe resources to support their best health.

Holistic living options for your child(ren) can include:
- Send them to school with their own essential oil (Aromatherapy) hand sanitizer. Containing all natural anti-bacterial, anti-toxic, and antiviral properties, they will like the aroma and the way it feels on their hands.

- Schedule time together to clean toys. Get a bucket and mix water, clear vinegar, and essential oils of lemon, tea tree, and pine - a gentle, safe cleanser, while your child has fun playing in the solution and being responsible for the care of his toys.

- Camouflage spinach or other green leafy vegetables in cacao, dark chocolate, or carob smoothies (make sure that your child has no sensitivity to these options). Fruit smoothies work well too - s(he) may find the green color interesting and fun! Use a juicer. If your child is transitioning from drinking store/fast food bought beverages, save the container. When you make the smoothie, add it to the container, until he is comfortable with the full transition.

- Give him or her the opportunity to play in dirt, or better yet soil. Encourage your child to assist you to plant and pick herbs that you can use to cook with.

Natural therapy options to understand and assist your fertility

Natural therapy options to understand and assist your fertility:

Self-examination of your emotions and belief about fertility, as it relates to pregnancy and your ability to create and nurture new experiences.

Connect with what you observed and were taught in childhood that is affecting your ability to conceive or give birth to an expression of yourself.

Connect to the truth as to the reason you would like to conceive a baby. List on paper and observe your feelings/beliefs from a different angle.

All self-exploration can be achieved in one-on-one therapy, affirmations, wellness sessions, journaling, meditation, visualization, prayer and so on.

For Fertility Wellness Sessions, you may contact me at NicoleATucker@aol.com or 201.926.9757.

How to Test for Lactose Intolerance in Babies

Lactose intolerance in babies can be painful. It is the body’s inability to properly process or metabolize lactose due to a lack of enzymes in the digestive system. Lactose is a type of sugar found in mammalian milk. In utero, babies can develop lactose intolerance if the mother consumes a nutritionally imbalanced diet, which affects healthy production of enzymes, consequently affecting the development of the baby’s digestive system. There are easy and non-invasive ways to test for lactose intolerance in babies.
Check the stool for blood and mucus. Blood may appear light pink or deep red in color. Using gloves, separate the stool to check for mucus.

Get a stool acidity test, which measures the amount of acid in the stool. Undigested lactose in the colon creates lactic acid.

Check for rashes on the face, the front and back of the neck, the stomach and abdomen, toes and all over. Rashes may appear dry, wet, raised, irritated and itchy. Check for a breakout of bumps on the body.

Gently apply 1/2 tsp. of milk on the abdominal area and note any breakouts within four to six hours.

Crying may indicate pain in the digestive system. Be conscious of crying immediately or two to three hours after milk feeding. Listen for gas sounds in the stomach and intestines.

Self-test by feeding your baby 1 oz. of milk on an empty stomach, noting any digestive upsets that occur within two to four hours. Repeat two more times in a 24-hour period, if necessary.

Enzyme Therapy is a muscle palpation technique administered on the body and feet to test the enzyme status throughout the body. The right enzymes can be placed back into the body with the aid of this process. Recommended for mom and baby, Enzyme Therapy helps to repair the digestive system and process a limited or full dose of lactose. Cow, goat, and bottled milk may still pose a challenge to digest.

Continued breastfeeding is encouraged; however, you may need to decrease or eliminate dairy, sugar and fats from your diet and include the appropriate enzymes, as your baby is directly affected by what you eat.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote a healthy body and emotions. This method helps to soothe the digestive system. Add three drops of sweet orange essential oil to one teaspoon of canola oil and apply it in a clockwise motion on your baby’s digestive system. Rub the oil in the palms of of your hands; start applying it under baby’s left breast, moving down the left side of the body, across the abdomen, including the belly button, up the right side of the body, under the right breast and then to the left breast.

As a physical upset can be directly connected to an emotional upset, lactose intolerance may also indicate a challenge with processing change and sadness.

Click here to learn more about Aromatherapy and Enzyme Therapy. To schedule a private session in either modality to address lactose intolerance, email Nicole at NicoleATucker@aol.com.

Circumspect on Circumcision

It is our belief that circumcision is received by the body as trauma. A dismembering of the genitalia, the act and response from the male (or female) leave an imprint of trauma within the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual cells and bodies. This can be seen as a baby's indoctrination to physical pain/abuse, by way of his/her sexual organ. Furthermore, it is our belief that this imprint can possibly result in a desensitized genitalia, contributing to challenges with satisfyingly giving and receiving pleasure during love making with a partner and in masturbation, rage, unhealthy romantic love partnership, fear of self-actualization.

According to the philosophy of Sexual Reflexology, the skin that is removed during male circumcision is connected to energy meridians of the spleen, stomach and pancreas, and the adrenal, thymus, pineal and pituitary in female. This additional information further supports that this surgery is a whole body, holistic experience, affecting every known and unknown aspect of the individual.

Repairing the physical and metaphysical consequences of circumcision, at any age, can be done. We find that essential oils and flower essences work exceptionally well with physically enlivening the genitals and supporting the individual in his/her emotional release and healing.

Conscious Conception: 3 Things You Must Do Before Conceiving

1. Consciously examine your beliefs, emotions and thought processes to ascertain the truth as to why you want to become a parent. Upon reaching your answer, honestly decide if the reason is viable.

2. Assess your internal and external life and resources. Do they allow for a supportive, nurturing, healthy and loving environment conducive to raising a baby/child?

3. Research and choose ongoing safe, non-invasive health options to prepare (as best as possible) the body's four levels (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) to conceive, birth, navigate, and sustain the entire maternity/parenthood journey with *responsibility and optimum wellness.

*responsibility = ability to respond, not react

An Easier and Safer Way To Turn Your Breech Baby

Mom, you've found out that your baby is in the breech position, what do you do?

You've most likely started the search for the best approach(es) to gently and safely assist in turning baby into the cephalic or head-down position.

A main concern with breech presentation at 40 weeks gestation is oxygen deprivation, which may occur from either cord prolapsed or prolonged compression of the cord during birth head entrapment. This can lead to neurological damage or in severe cases, death.

For assistance with turning baby into the head-down position, I highly recommend Holistic Synergy Energywork (HSE). As a Synergist, I, in partnership with your energy, baby's and the Universal Divine Energy, utilize my hands (on top of mother's belly) to shift energy within a specific part of the body. In this case, to assist in gently positioning baby with head down in pelvic region.

If there is a health condition which causes the breech position, HSE can assist to bring balance and harmony to the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy fields. All negative energies are released out of the body and replaced with positive, healthy energies and thought forms.

HSE for breech support and balancing health is done carefully and safely and can be accomplished in one or multiple sessions. Factors that affect rate of effectiveness include mom and baby's resistance to the method due to apprehension to meet each other and/or baby's apprehension to enter the world. These factors can be addressed in one or more sessions.
