What Is Aromatherapy and What Health Challenges Can It Assist?

Aromatherapy entails using essential oils, also known as the lifeblood of nature's oldest inhabitants, flowers, plants, fruits. The oils are extracted through distillation and their healing properties are then used in a gentle and safe manner to assist your health concerns. The essential oils have certain qualities such as antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiseptic, antibiotic, antidepressant, and/or many other qualities that assist your holistic (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) health. A trained person can work with these qualities to educate you on how to use these essential oils for your own personal benefit. When inhaled and/or placed on the skin, there is an effect within the body. There are different ways of using essential oils: as a massage oil or cream, air spray, mouthwash, in a douche and more. A massage oil or cream is the method I find most efficient and my clients have found most effective. With a massage oil or cream, essential oils are combined with a carrier oil, such as olive, canola, and almond or in an unscented cream. I educate you in the appropriate essential oils to use and how to use them.

BREAKTHROUGH: With the assistance of our healthcare protocol, including Aromatherapy, Herbal Care, a variety of body/energywork, and Holistic Counseling, a client came to understand that her manifesting fibroids was a reflection of the passionate, satisfying life she was afraid to birth within herself. This energy of fear and repression then presented itself as painful fibroid blockages within her sacred, creative woman space - her womb. Congratulations!

Reflexology: Safe, Gentle Approach to Assist Labor Induction and Balance Breastmilk Flow

It was found that by administering direct, gentle pressure in certain parts of the feet there was an effect in related areas in the body. The feet are a mirror ('reflexsion') of the body, hence Reflexology! By applying skilled and specific thumb, finger and hand techniques to these pressure points or reflexes, you have the opportunity to discover where pain and challenge may lie in the body and utilizing Reflexology to assist in addressing it.

Regarding labor induction, it is best to request after 40 weeks of gestation. At this time, the gentle method of Reflexology can be applied to assist in stimulating movement and encouraging labor. A trained and qualified Reflexologist, in partnership with mom and baby's intention, can apply this special technique to the area of the feet that correspond to the reproductive system.

The same safe and non-invasive approach can be used if breastmilk flow is a challenge, whether too little or too much. By administering Reflexology finger techniques to the pressure or reflex points that correspond to the mammary glands, a mother has the opportunity to unblock channels that may have interfered with the flow of her breastmilk, and, in the same vein, the technique can also slow down/balance the flow, if too abundant.

Assisting labor induction and balancing breastmilk flow with Reflexology can be accomplished in one or multiple sessions. Other factors may affect these concerns; they would also need to be addressed as part of the Reflexology protocol and/or with other wellness modalities, such as Aromatherapy, Herbal Care, Flower Essences and Energywork.
