The outside reflects the inside

The skin is a mirror of your inner health. Eczema, diaper rash, psoriasis, moles, warts, and other manifestations on the skin reflect stress points within the organs. Along with the physical stressors within the body, your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs play a role as well. As your belief system is the root of all manifestations, one possibility for an eruption on the skin is the belief in fear of being vulnerable or emotionally exposing oneself. Skin irritation on a baby and child could reflect the parents’ subconscious beliefs as babies/children tend to be sensitive to and mirror their parents and environment. There are gentle topical options and natural health therapies to support the organs, still, consider exploring the possible beliefs if the irritation persists.

your bah humbug remedy

Is the holiday season a trigger of emotional upset for you? Consider these love-filled suggestions to get you through: 1: Clean your home - a clean space reflects the energy of releasing old, outdated beliefs and welcoming new, nurturing ones; 2. Commit to writing at least 3 days of 'why I enjoy feeling sad' journal entries - if you look carefully you can see an energy of light or awareness that feeling sad/mad/upset brings you. Every emotion is an opportunity for deeper self-intimacy; 3. Do something kind for another (anyone) - give money, give a smile, give a hug, wash dishes, rake the yard... Giving is a medicine in itself. Sending YOU a smile and hug - Nicole

Dear breasts, we love you!

With the continued spotlight on breast health and mastectomy, the topic has inspired me to remember the value of maintaining healthy breast care. Our breasts represent nurture, love, femininity, and healing. The best way to care for them is to truly care for ourselves as women - loving every aspect of our feminine expressions and freely sharing this love with others. Eating well, loving and living our lives, releasing painful beliefs, aromatherapy, and flower essences are also nourishing support for our breasts. I invite you to begin or continue the journey of valuing yourself, your body, and the important role you play in the world as these all affect your breast health.

You, baby, and family will benefit...forever

According to an article in Huffington Post, "while more than 85 percent of pregnancies are generally considered at low risk for complications, routine maternity care has become increasingly technology intensive and expensive. For example, one in three births in 2011 occurred by cesarean section. The cesarean rate rose nearly 60 percent from 1996 to 2009 without medical indications to explain the increase and cesareans are now the most common in-patient surgery in the country...The U.S. ranks 34th in maternal mortality, 38th in neonatal mortality, 66th in infants with low birth weight."

While these statistics may exist, real change is occurring in modern birthing.

Laboring women are increasing interested in a safe, non-invasive, and therapeutic approach to assist their delicate childbirth journey; one in which they are more consciously engaged and experience a greater bond and partnership with baby as they give birth. This form of conscious birthing allows the mother to receive healthy support and be fully present while quieting the noise of what she was forewarned, by friends, family, the media, about childbirth.

My mission has been and continues to honor this renewed declaration of birthing in safety and love, not fear. As an advocate, the Birth Support Kit and My Loving & Pleasurable Childbirth were conceived as vessels to answer the call for conscious and empowered birthing. Each offers the re-introduction of personal feminine wisdom, power, and pleasure into the birthing experience.

I believe the way we enter into the world determines the quality of our lifetime. Let's create and share a collective belief and projection that shines a healing light on our own births, children's births, mothers' and grandmothers' births, and all present and future births to come.

Your conscious and empowered birth advocate,
Nicole

Praise

"I had been using Nicole's services for my son initially to help with his allergies.  We had tried every pill and inhalant under the sun, but he still continued to suffer. Imagine my complete joy at his miserable state vanishing on the second day of using her cream!  We ended up treating him also for sensory issues and treating myself for various health issues for stress management and sleep.  Her unique approach has made an enormous positive impact not only on our physical health without the use of pharmaceuticals, but on our family dynamic. I can't express enough how much she has helped us. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and supportive.  I would recommend her highly for anyone who is looking for a safe, natural way to better their health. I consider Nicole now a permanent part of my family's wellness team." - RD/textile designer

Conscious Parenting: Asking for your child's permission

I recently posted on Facebook:

"ConsciousParenting: Ask for your child's permission to post pictures or any information about her/himself on Facebook or any place."

The social media experience can be fun and engaging. It is another avenue for us to connect with and learn more about each other's lives, via photos and personal information. When posting, the adult makes the decision to share whatever he or she chooses, which could include photos of family members, vacations, details of a child's status in school, and so on. But, what about the child? Does she have a say in whether her picture or any details about her personal life gets posted?

Asking your child for permission shows respect and a sincere honoring of her rights. She will learn by your example and add this approach to her conscious and subconscious list of belief systems. It builds inner self-value and nurtures healthy communication and interpersonal relationships.

I encourage you to consider the other areas in your child's life where it is appropriate to ask for his/her permission...and honor it.

Conscious Conception: Factors to Consider When Ready to Conceive

Your intentions of creating a baby:
Is the desire to conceive a baby born out of a place of love, loneliness, fear, or other?

Being honest with yourself as to the purpose of getting pregnant will bring forth clarity and the opportunity to move forward in your decision from a place of consciousness and empowerment.

Feelings about yourself and partner:
It is crucial to consider how you truly feel about yourself, your openness to give and receive love, and the role of motherhood.

What role does your partner play in the decision to get pregnant? Will he or she be present and fully involved in the journey? Will you choose single parenting? What resources would you like to assist you?

How’s the health of your womb?
Preparing the womb space to conceive is essential in ensuring a safe and healthy home for your baby to grow. If there are any health challenges, consider utilizing natural therapies, such as aromatherapy and herbs, as complementary and alternative approaches to address the issue. They are gentle and non-toxic on the body.

How’s your diet!
It is best to consume foods that strengthens, cleanses and nourishes the body; which include appropriate portion and food pairing, moderation and listening to your body when it signals a need for food.

How much and what kind of water do you drink?
It is best to drink ½ your body’s weight in ounces up to 100 ounces daily. For instance, if you weigh 150 pounds, 75 ounces of water is the minimum daily amount. Preferably distilled water – many of the impurities have been removed through distillation.

How clean is the air in the home and work place?
Realize that unless you are getting really clean/fresh air, as well as breathing deeply, you may also be having challenges with the proper oxygenation of your body.

Go for a walk outside and slowly take deep breaths to fill the lungs.

Are you getting the appropriate type of exercise?
Exercise has been known to repair and strengthen the body, improve moods and assists in reducing pregnancy discomforts.

Light, gentle stretches and brisk to medium paced walking are appropriate exercises that promote circulation throughout the entire body.

What are your stress levels and how do you deal with them?
This is a main source of depletion of the essential elements that sustain a person’s body health. Naturally, stress is involved in the life experience, how you deal and address it is key. Meditation and/or listening to soothing music have been known to help with stress reduction, along with an innate belief in trust.

Lifestyle Choices:
Refrain from smoking, alcohol consumption, and recreational drugs. The health ramifications can be quite extensive, including anemia, blood and heart challenges. Most drugs cross the placenta, so if you are already pregnant, this may cause a direct toxic effect on the fetus, including possible and drug dependency. After childbirth, drugs can be passed to the baby through breastfeeding.

Mastering Your Choices: How to Clearly Define Your Positions of Mother and Woman

Defining the roles of mother and woman helps you to set clear boundaries within yourself, your relationships, and life experiences.

At times, it can be a very thin line when steering each. One can get lost within the other and vice versa. Yes, as a mother, you are both a mother and a woman. As a woman, what identity have you structured for yourself? Is being a mother your identity? Or, have you created two interdependent identities that support or clash with each other? What does it mean to you to be a mother and a woman?

I invite you to register for my next live teleseminar, in which I will present key steps to clearly define these roles, allowing you to acknowledge and honor each, while truthfully deciding your self-identity.

I Love My Work!

According to an article in the New York Post, women who suffer stress during pregnancy transmit their anxiety to their unborn child from as early as 17 weeks, research indicates. Stress levels in fetuses only four months rise and fall in line with those of their mothers.

The findings prompted calls for employers, family and friends to be aware of the risks. The research is published in the May edition of Clinical Endocrinology. One of the study’s authors, Professor Yvette Glover, has previously shown a link between stress in pregnancy and the baby’s IQ. (Times of London)

This truth serves as one of the reasons I conceived and gave birth to my practice. My goal is to guide mothers in remembering that they are a powerful part of the birthing journey, before, during, and after pregnancy, through their thoughts, conscious decision making skills, diet, and their perception about themselves and their pregnancy and, motherhood in general.

By assisting mothers in understanding the significance of demonstrating love in the womb, they will ultimately be able to transmit that energy to baby, increasing the chances of birthing a happy baby whose beginning foundation in this life is in joy and love. This foundation then continues to grow and build the essence of the individual, giving rise to a self-empowered, emotionally nurtured, conscious participant on the life journey who contributes his or her gifts to the world with love and care.

My unique approach to natural health care for pregnant women, new moms, newborns and childbirth all offer the support and assistance necessary to foster such a beginning and rapport. I invite you to explore these options and how I may be of service.

With Love,

Nicole

Mastering Motherhood

I see mastering motherhood as honoring both the mother and woman within you. Knowing when to wear the mommy hat and when to switch gears and flip on your woman hat. It is so vital to create an intimate relationship with both. They need each other for support and guidance on how to powerfully navigate both worlds. Your children know the mother. Your husband/partner/career sees the woman. You own both.

At times, it can be a very thin line when steering each. One can get lost within the other and vice versa. The key is to set clear boundaries within yourself and with the people in your life, if you choose to acknowledge the two separately.

If you are a mother, I invite you to start to define the two roles and how you would go about setting the appropriate boundaries to regard both.

My next live tele-class in July will be on this topic. I would love to hear your views and position on Mastering Motherhood. Please feel free to forward your email address to be notified of the date and time of the class.

With love,
Nicole

Conscious Parenting: Emotion Accountability

Parents, are you conscious to the fact that your children are aware of your feelings, whether you verbally express them or not?

They may be unable to say everything that you are feeling, but, in most cases, they mirror and demonstrate your mood and emotions.

Have your child displayed temper tantrums and other emotional upsets? It may be helpful for you to explore your emotions to identify your own hidden emotional upsets, there is a great possibility that your child may be mirroring upsets within the parent(s) or home environment.

It helps to foster a home environment in which a healthy awareness of one's emotions is acknowledged and appropriately addressed. Reactions, such as temper tantrums, reflect misdirected and inappropriately addressed emotions.

To nurture your commitment to Conscious Parenting, incorporate healthy approaches to wellness for the whole family, such as responsible communication, wholesome nutrition, Aromatherapy and Flower Essences.

To your conscious health and wellness,

Nicole

Is Your Family Dehydrated?

Drinking water is a powerful, healing necessity that is a daily requirement! Much of society have come to overconsume coffee, tea and juice, while devaluing the importance of drinking pure water.

Water is essential to the proper growth and thriving of any life. Literally, without it, the body dies...just think, if you stop watering your plant...it dies! Our lives depend on it...all internal organs and body functioning, such as liver, heart, stomach, eyes, intestines and so on rely on water in order to function well.

Because we are all built in different sizes, the amount necessary for each individual is different. It is recommended that you consume 1/2 your body's weight in ounces, for example, if you weigh 150 pounds, 75 ounces of water is what your body requires; preferably distilled water, all of the impurities are removed through distillation. Is it recommended that you sip every 10 to 15 minutes to gradually hydrate the body.

It has been stated that 80% of society is dehydrated. Rule number one for identifying dehydration is thirst. If you are feeling thirsty, you are already dehydrated.

Possible signs of dehydration include:
Allergies
Digestive issues
Dry skin
Blemishes/Skin discoloration
Dark color around the eyes
Brittle/thinning hair
Constipation
Womb challenges
Weight gain
Mood swings

The above may also indicate other challenges within the body.

"Water" with fructose and minerals in it, is not pure water. The body has to process the fructose and minerals, instead of experiencing the natural cleansing and hydrating of pure water throughout the entire body.

Benefits of appropriate water consumption include:
Removing waste and toxins from the body
Improves heart health, resulting in higher energy and circulation
Proper digestion
Assists in balancing your emotions and mental health
Promotes healthy and glowing skin
Assists in keeping the body more alkaline (disease cannot live in an alkaline body!)
Improves dental health
Increases recovery from illness

Choose drinking clean, pure water everyday a commitment within your home.
